You have got to train your mind to be stronger than your emotions or else you’ll lose yourself everytime.

Mastering emotions can be difficult at times. You may feel like you are on a rollercoaster and it’s not a fun ride. Your emotions go up and down and twist and turn. You are in an out-of-control car and your emotions are driving.

Is there a reason why I feel this way?

 Try to think about the possible alternatives to the way you are feeling. Remember your emotions are separate from you.  As soon as you achieve this, you have reframed your thinking. You can use this same method to modify your thoughts and actions as well.

Embrace  Your Feelings and Appreciate Them 

Trying to shut down or reject your feelings is not a part of emotional mastery. It may result in depression. Rather, accepting your feelings as part of your identity is a key to controlling your emotions.

You can consider your emotions as messengers. They are neither “good” nor “bad”. They may feel uncomfortable at times, but they do provide useful information.
